The 2021 Youth Media Award announcements will take place on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at 8 a.m. CT  during the ALA Midwinter Meeting and Exhibits virtual conference.  Are YOU hosting Mock YMA Elections in preparation for these annual announcements?

These discussions often culminate in a mock election focusing on books which might be considered as winners for:

It’s always fun to hear what these groups around the country have selected in their Mock Election programs. These discussions are also a great opportunity for all of us who love children’s literature to gather and discuss the awards and to learn more about some of the outstanding books published for youth in the past year. (Here are the results from the 2016 mock elections , the 2017 mock elections, the 2018 mock elections, the 2019 mock elections, and last year’s mock elections.)

Are you offering a Mock YMA (Youth Media Award) Election this year?  Don’t forget to submit your results to the 2021 Mock YMA Elections Results page.

To add your mock election results to this page, please use this form. Please attach a copy of the ALSC Photo Release Waiver if you would like us to include images of participants. Submit your results by Sunday, January 24 to have them published on this page.

We look forward to hearing what you’ve selected in preparation for the “real” announcements on January 25, 2021.
