Another amazing day at #PLA2026!
Today I attended:
- Big Ideas with Dr. Ruha Benjamin
- Understanding First Amendment Rights for Everyday Courage in the Stacks
- Fostering Connections: Building Babies’ Brains Across a Community with Gwinnett County Library’s Patty Reeber, the Youth Services Manager
- Author lunch with esteemed authors Ann Patchett and Kate diCamillo
- Beyond Storytime: Community-Building Through Music, Play and Partnerships
I also heard about some amazing upcoming titles in Children’s Lit!
Once again, I am physically exhausted and my brain may explode at any moment. PLA, you never disappoint!
Anne Friederichs (she/her/hers) is a Children’s Librarian specializing in preschool programming, and collections for birth through 3rd graders at Dakota County Wescott Library in Eagan, MN. Anne says that she has always left each PLA Conference with an overload of information, and she is looking forward to that again! She is also anticipating learning from and gleaning great insight from colleagues across the nation! Anne says she grew up in a family of teachers. She knew the value of books and information, yet never thought of being a librarian! If she could reread a book for the first time, it would probably be Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.
