Earlier this year, the ALSC Board of Directors revised the ALSC Blog policy. The essential mission of the blog remained the same: The mission of the ALSC Blog is to provide a venue for coverage of time sensitive news in children’s librarianship, current issues in the field, and programs, conferences, initiatives, resources, and activities of interest to ALSC members and those interested in children’s librarianship” and an important addition was made: “The ALSC Blog must align with ALSC’s vision, core values and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.”

So are you wondering how YOU can become a guest contributor to the ALSC Blog? You can find the complete guidelines here, but the basics include that the post must:
- be of interest to children’s librarians
- be related to children’s librarianship
- align with the mission of the blog
The guest contributors themselves must be aware of
- the ALSC Blog Policy
- ALSC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion statement
- the Library Bill of Rights
- our Code of Ethics
- ALSC core values:
- collaboration
- excellence
- inclusiveness
- innovation
- integrity and respect
- leadership
- responsiveness
