Still Time to Nominate Your Favorite Children’s Books for a Cybil!

Attention lovers of children’s and teen literature! (I suppose that’s all of us, huh?)

After you’ve sent in your 2011 Caldecott suggestions and your 2011 Geisel suggestions, don’t forget to nominate your favorite titles for a Cybil award!  If you haven’t already, there is still time to submit nominations for the 2010 Cybils.   [To be precise, you have until the stroke of midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, October 15th.]

The Cybils are awarded by kidlit and YAlit bloggers to children’s and young adult books. Anyone may nominate a book for any of the categories.  Eligible books for 2010 include any works for children and teens published between October 16, 2009 and October 15, 2010. Click here for FAQ’s about the awards, the judges, and the nomination process.

You may submit one nomination per category in any of the following categories:

  • Easy Readers/Early Chapter Books
  • Fantasy and Science Fiction
  • Fiction Picture Books  (I have the great honor of serving as a first round judge on the Fiction Picture Books panel this year.  As of this afternoon, our panel has received 221 nominations!  Huzzah! )
  • Graphic Novels
  • Middle Grade Fiction
  • NonFiction Picture Books
  • NonFiction Middle Grade/Young Adult
