Sometimes it’s the simplest thing that gets folks talking.

As I mentioned before, I am exploring passive ways to either get students or parents talking about the library and reading.  One of the simplest things I have done is posted a currently reading sign on the reference desk.  I used canva to design an eye catching poster, and I post the title(s) that I am currently reading.  So many people have asked about it, and it turns into a perfect opportunity to booktalk!

So far I have posted a variety of children’s and adult titles showcasing the fact that I don’t only read “one way”.  My hopes are that other teachers will do the same thing and showcase the fact that we are indeed, a community of readers.
