Last year the ALSC Membership Meeting format was changed to a new one that offered more opportunity for member engagement. We received many positive comments about the changes and will be following a similar format this year, but we are asking for your help to make our meeting even better. This year’s 2013 ALSC Membership Meeting takes place on Monday, July 1 @ 10:30-11:30 am.
Agenda
The ALSC membership meeting will follow the following agenda:
Part One: A quick review of ALSC initiatives, as well as announcements by ALSC President Carolyn Brodie and an opportunity to welcome and network with new members and other participants.
Part Two: Recognition of ALSC professional award winners including the 2013 Distinguished Service Award winner, Cynthia Richey.
Part Three: Discussion items as suggested by ALSC Membership. The discussion will be led by ALSC Board Members, Rita Auerbach and Ernie Cox. Topics for discussion last year included: virtual participation in ALSC committees/initiatives and the proposed ALSC dues adjustment. This year we are hoping that you will suggest the topics you would like us to discuss at the membership meeting. What are the important issues facing ALSC, facing you as an ALSC member or facing our profession?
Part Four: Questions for ALSC President, Carolyn Brodie–Carolyn will respond to questions submitted prior to the meeting (as time allows) as well as to questions posed at the meeting. The question period will also be an opportunity for member discussion.
