This morning I met Mo Willems, Kevin Henkes, Lois Elhert and Erica Pearl. Oh, and Elephant and Piggie! What made this an even more incredible experience is that I was able to meet some awesome Children’s Librarians along the way. It is a great bonding experience to stand in line with total strangers at have a common goal and walk away feeling like you just met some new friends. My new friends and I discussed dramatic readings of Elephant and Piggie books, Programing ideas, play in libraries and shared summaries of conference sessions that we had attended. This informal networking that occurred while waiting to meet great authors will be a highlight of my trip to #ala11.
