ALA Midwinter 2015

Library Legislative Day at #alamw15

This morning at the ALSC Leadership  Meeting, Jenna Nemec-Loise gave a great elevator pitch for Library Legislative Day. What is LLD? It’s a chance for you to meet with your legislators and tell them that libraries are important!

I am sad to say that I didn’t know Library Legislative Day existed. This year it’s on May 4th and 5th. Among the many calls to action the ALA Washington office are working on, I was most fired up by calls to keep funding LSAT (which helps target funding for people with limited literacy skills and access to the library); advocating for Net Neutrality; and requiring that every public school in the US have a state certified school librarian on staff.

Will you you journey to DC for Library Legislative Day?
