Summer reading is in full swing at my library and my tweens are reading furiously. The middle grade (MG) is flying off the shelves! \u00a0Here are a few books that my kids cannot get enough of:<\/p>\n

How They Choked: Failures, Flops, and Flaws of the Awfully Famous\u00a0<\/em>by Georgia Bragg<\/p>\n

This one is a follow-up to How They Croaked<\/i>, which was on the shortlist for the Mississippi Children\u2019s Choice Award last year in the 6-8 category. My kids loved that one, and they must love this one because I haven\u2019t seen hide nor hair of it since it came in. It\u2019s about famous failures and includes stories about Amelia Earhart, Vincent Van Gogh, Ferdinand Magellan, and more. I managed to glance through it between circs and it is hilarious.<\/p>\n

The Battle for WondLa<\/i> by Tony DiTerlizzi<\/p>\n

The WondLa trilogy has been popular at my branch since the first book. This is the conclusion, and not only is the sprawling, beautifully strange scifi story of Eva Nine really, really satisfying, the gorgeous illustrations that DiTerlizzi himself penned are breathtaking. I love this series and I\u2019m happy my kids love it, too.<\/p>\n
