On that date, author Andrea Davis Pinkney, vice president and editor at large of Scholastic\u2019s Trade Books, will deliver the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/arbuthnot\" title=\"Arbuthnot Honor Lecture\">2014 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Andrea Davis Pinkney is a New York Times best-selling writer of more than 20 books for children and young adults including picture books, novels and nonfiction.  During the course of her career, Pinkney has launched many high-profile publishing and entertainment entities, including Hyperion Books for Children\/Disney Publishing\u2019s Jump at the Sun imprint, the first African American children\u2019s book imprint at a major publishing company.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture will take place at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/news\/press-releases\/2013\/07\/university-minnesota-childrens-literature-research-collection-host-2014\" title=\"University of Minnesota Children's Research Collections\">University of Minnesota Children&#8217;s Literature Research Collections<\/a>.
