The lecturer need not be a resident or citizen of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED TERMS AND DEFINITIONS<\/p>\n<p><b>Children&#8217;s literature<\/b>: Books published for children up to and including the age of 14.<\/p>\n<p><b>Lecturer<\/b>: The Lecturer may be related to the field in any area: author, illustrator, editor, publisher, professor of children&#8217;s literature, reviewer, art director, etc.<\/p>\n<p><b>Distinguished<\/b>: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marked by eminence and distinction; noted for significant achievement.<\/li>\n<li>Marked by excellence in quality.<\/li>\n<li>Marked by conspicuous excellence or eminence.<\/li>\n<li>Individually distinct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Criteria in identifying a distinguished contribution<\/b>: Impact of the candidate&#8217;s work on the world of children&#8217;s literature. Honoring a person who has played a significant role in the field of children&#8217;s literature.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Lectureship, the Lecturer has the opportunity to make an additional contribution to the field.<\/p>\n<p>The committee needs to respectfully consider the potential of the candidate to make an additional contribution to the field through the Lectureship.
