January is the month when we begin to see a big uptick in D\u00eda programming being added to the national program registry. YAY! If your library hosts D\u00eda events each year (thanks!), we look forward to seeing your events.<\/p>\n<\/div> If you\u2019re new to D\u00eda, learn more on our website<\/a> and in this post<\/a>, announcing the kick-off of the 2026 campaign. The official name is El d\u00eda de los ni\u00f1os\/El d\u00eda de los libros (Children\u2019s Day\/Book Day). The initiative is observed annually on April 30. But, since D\u00eda is an opportunity to emphasize the importance of children, literacy, and diverse books, languages, and cultures, anytime <\/strong>is a great time to celebrate!<\/p>\n\n\n\n To submit program(s) to the national registry of D\u00eda events, complete the registration form<\/a>. The registry is a great way for planners to share diversity programming ideas and inspiration with colleagues nationwide. For a little closer look at programming, check out this post<\/a>. The D\u00eda reading lists, in both English and Spanish, will be available next month. Please keep checking the free resources page<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just a reminder: the Notable Children\u2019s Books<\/a> discussion meetings begin TOMORROW<\/strong> and will be held January 13, 14, and 15! Guests are welcome, but registration is required. See Mary Voors\u2019 recent post<\/a> for meeting times, registration links, AND the committee\u2019s list of titles up for discussion.
