The conference theme is \u201cConnecting Cultures and Celebrating Cuentos.\u201d\u009d In addition to breakout sessions related to Latino children&#8217;s literature, there will be\u00a0keynote sessions with\u00a0Dr. Kathy Short, Yuyi Morales , and Lucia Gonzalez. Dr. Kathy Short from the University of Arizona will\u00a0discuss international children&#8217;s literature and intercultural understandings through youth literature. Luc\u00ed\u00ada Gonz\u00ed\u00a1lez will read from her forthcoming bilingual picturebook <em>The Storyteller&#8217;s Candle\/ La velita de los cuentos <\/em>during the luncheon break. Author Yuyi Morales (<em>Little Night<\/em>) will close the conference with a grand finale performance followed by a book signing of conference and local authors.<\/p>\n<p>Registration prior to March 31 is $55 for full-time Students (with Professor&#8217;s Verification) $55.00 and $65 for General Attendees.
