When you get here (notice I said when – not if) think about volunteering to help out at the conference! It gives you a slightly different outlook! I spent the morning at the The Graphic Novels and Comics Round Table (GNCRT) comics lounge and I had a blast interacting not just with other librarians – but with publishers and artists as well! It was two hours of introducing what #GNCRT does – while passing out swag and bags and letting people know all of the opportunities for committee work, etc. that the roundtable does. While I was there, there was also an artist talk – getting close and personal with people who produce the work that we collect and promote! I also was asked where the bathroom was (“sorry? don’t know”) and asking what number is our spot (2566) several times. Was there a scavenger hunt going on? Who knows? All I know is I had fun giving back to our organization!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly Depin<\/strong> is a member of the 2025 Newbery committee and is looking forward to giving you a look at some of the invited events attached to the award winning authors.  She has been a librarian for over 20 years and looks forward to being found someday as part of some unique children\u2019s or adult programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
