We could all use a little <em>magic<\/em> in our lives, so my colleague and I are looking forward to hosting a party celebrating magical creatures. Stories, crafts, and games will be sprinkled throughout the program. Patrons will be able to pick and choose which stations to attend after enjoying a short storytime about these fantasy creatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stories\">Stories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So many books to choose from! We will read two books and have a display of other titles. Here are a few possibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Do Not Bring Your Dragon to the Library<\/em> by Julie Gassman<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Knight Owl<\/em> by Christopher Denise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon<\/em> by Kat Zhang<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Unicorn Day<\/em> by Diana Murray<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Unicorn Thinks He&#8217;s Pretty Great <\/em>by Bob Shea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-crafts\">Crafts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A quick search of Pinterest yields enough craft ideas for <em>many <\/em>programs. We plan to create these adorable paper tube <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easypeasyandfun.com\/unicorn-toilet-paper-roll-craft\/\">unicorns<\/a>. Young patrons will use dowel rods, ribbons, beads, glitter cardstock stars, and other embellishments to create their wands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-games\">Games<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are planning a few games to provide active options, rather than just crafts. Our Makerspace&#8217;s large format printer allows us to create posters for the Fairy and Dragon games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pin the Wing on the Fairy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ring Toss on the Unicorn Horn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feed the Dragon (toss a beanbag through the dragon&#8217;s mouth)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-other-ideas\">Other Ideas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will decorate the space with Canva posters.
