How to Lead When You’re Not In Charge: Leveraging Influence When You Lack Authority <\/em>by Clay Scroggins<\/p>\n\n\n\n What I love about this title is that it is written for anyone interested in leadership. Every good organization needs leaders as they are your coworkers who inspire and motivate, but leaders aren’t always managers and many don’t have titles. Scroggins highlights various leadership lessons, such as building a support network and being a problem solver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Making of a Manager: What to Do When Everyone Looks to You<\/em> by Julie Zhou <\/p>\n\n\n\n Julie was the V.P. of Design at Facebook and turned author. This is an excellent title especially for newer managers as it gives advice for what to do during your first three months and how to grow after. Julie highlights her own career path to show that leadership is a journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action<\/em> by Simon Sinek <\/p>\n\n\n\n I am a big Simon Sinek fan. If he is new to you, he is an author and inspirational speaker. This title explores various real-life stories and leaders to examine those qualities that good leaders have in order to inspire and motivate people. But he is also fun to listen to and I recommend his TED Talk<\/a> by the same title. If you prefer to engage with smaller bits of information, Simon is @simonsinek on Instagram<\/a>, Threads<\/a>, and TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My favorite leadership person to follow on social media is Adam Grant, an organizational psychologist, author, and podcaster. He is @adamgrant on Instagram<\/a> and Threads<\/a> or @adamgrantpsych on TikTok<\/a>.
