While this will vary widely from community to community, a good place to stay up to date on these across the country, and other current issues, is ALA\u2019s Intellectual Freedom News, which is updated weekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oif.ala.org\/oif\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It offers news organized into categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Censorship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First Amendment, Free Speech, &amp; Civil Liberties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Privacy &amp; Cybersecurity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legislation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>State and Local Governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information Literacy &amp; Disinformation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ALA News<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some perspectives on intellectual freedom issues being affected by recent elections are presented in yesterday\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/12\/12\/books\/book-bans-libraries.html\">New York Times article<\/a><\/em> on the current \u201cSurge in Book Bans.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you experience a challenge at your organization, please remember to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/tools\/challengesupport\/report\">share information<\/a> about it with the Office of Intellectual Freedom.
