{"id":28135,"date":"2022-11-18T00:01:22","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T05:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=28135"},"modified":"2022-11-17T18:34:07","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T23:34:07","slug":"share-your-story-with-the-budget-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2022\/11\/share-your-story-with-the-budget-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Share Your Story with the Budget Committee!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello ALSC Members!&nbsp; In years past, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/aboutalsc\/coms\/pg4orgsupport\/als-bf\">ALSC Budget Committee<\/a> has written articles calling attention to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2020\/11\/a-blog-post-about-alsc-budget-no-seriously-read-it\/\">frequently misunderstood concepts<\/a> regarding ALSC\u2019s Budget, discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2015\/11\/alsc-endowments-2\/\">ALSC\u2019s many endowments<\/a>, and highlighted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2020\/03\/notes-from-a-novice-budget-member\/\">general misconceptions<\/a> around this quiet, but vital committee.&nbsp; The committee has also worked to create infographics to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2021\/05\/alsc-budget-committee-follow-the-money\/\">demystify how ALSC allocates its funds<\/a> &#8211; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2022\/02\/alsc-budget-committee-find-your-money\/\">how you<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2022\/05\/alsc-budget-committee-payday-for-your-library\/\">or your library<\/a>) can take advantage of ALSC\u2019s and ALA\u2019s grants and awards.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, we\u2019re going to take a different approach, and we need your help!&nbsp; Have you benefited from an ALSC-related program like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/awardsgrants\/scholarships\/equity-fellowship\">ALSC Equity Fellowship<\/a> program or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/confevents\/institute\/institutescholarship\">Friends of ALSC Institute Scholarship<\/a>?&nbsp; Have you served on a committee that requested funding to complete a project?&nbsp; Perhaps you\u2019ve met a friend or a professional contact at an ALSC-Related sponsored Happy Hour.&nbsp; If so, we want to hear from you and hear how ALSC has influenced your professional journey.&nbsp; Please contact Budget Committee members Jonda C.
