I\u2019m taking this blog post opportunity to update you on a few upcoming opportunities for engagement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/ala-events.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJ0rd--uqD8uHt1NJ27s6WSJcV8vHcU7BSJn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ALSC Chat<\/a>: Our School Age Programs and Services Committee is hosting an ALSC chat <strong>on Monday at 4pm<\/strong>! The chat will focus on how public and school library workers are supporting students this school year.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/member-center\/community-forums\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ALSC Community Forum<\/a> <em>(ALA member login required)<\/em>: Our members have important business coming to the ballot next year! It\u2019s explained a bit more in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2021\/09\/electoral-process-efficiencies-on-the-2022-alsc-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent blog post<\/a>, and our Community Forum on Wednesday will aim to support our members&#8217; understanding of these ballot items to help them make an informed vote. It will be recorded and made available shortly after for members who are unable to attend live. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/news\/press-releases\/2021\/11\/registration-open-2021-children-s-literature-lecture-celebration-honoring-dr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> 2021 Children\u2019s Literature Lecture Celebration <\/a>honoring the work of Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop will take place on December 2. You do not want to miss this! The celebration will feature a live, moderated discussion of thought leaders in children\u2019s literature: Dr. Violet Harris (University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign), Dr. Dianne Johnson-Feelings (University of South Carolina), Alexandra Kennedy (The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Literature) and moderator Dr. Jonda McNair (The Ohio State University). Registration will open very soon and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/airtable.com\/shrstz2ywFZL4CP3V\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">we\u2019re accepting program proposals by November 23!<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, I want to bring you back to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2021\/11\/the-membership-committee-needs-your-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blog post by our Membership Committee<\/a>.
