These lists offer titles for grades K-8. (Speaking of graphic novels, be sure to check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/alscpresprogramcreatorsspeak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2021 Charlemae Hill Rollins President\u2019s Program<\/a>, The POW(!)er of Graphic Novels to Support Youth Literacy, featuring Nidhi Chanani, Jerry Craft, Varian Johnson, and Nadia Shammas. A resource guide is available for download with the recording.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you browse through our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/publications-resources\/book-lists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Recommended Books from ALSC<\/strong><\/a> page, you\u2019ll find all of our other lists including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>2021 Summer Reading Lists<\/strong>: Did you notice a new \u201cDigital Experiences\u201d section was added this year? <\/li><li><strong>25<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary D\u00eda Booklists<\/strong>: The 2021 D\u00eda booklists provide engaging stories representing a variety of cultures and backgrounds to share with children from birth through 8th grade. #diaturns25<\/li><li><strong>BCALA and ALSC Social Justice Reading List<\/strong>: Community, Connecting, Cultivating &amp; Constructing Conversations Through Literacy is a list developed by members of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) and ALSC&#8217;s Quicklists Committee. This list is intended to support conversations about dismantling systems of racial injustice.<\/li><li><strong>Embracing Gender Identities<\/strong>: Embracing Gender Identities is an ALSC booklist created to help support conversations about gender identity and expression. It includes additional resources for parents.<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While many of our lists are refreshed each year, I hope that even our older lists are still proving to be useful, including our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/publications-resources\/book-lists\/toughtopics2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2019 Tough Topics Booklists<\/a>. As always, I send a thankful shout out to the members of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/aboutalsc\/coms\/pg6partnerships\/als-lmm?year=2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quicklists Committee<\/a> for pulling these projects together every year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our network of members share knowledge,\u00a0evaluate books &amp; media for young people, and advocate for better library service to children. A strong and engaged membership allows for our organization to continue to\u00a0develop, design, and distribute resources (like these booklists!)\u00a0that have a positive impact on library service to children.
