Late last year, my library purchased ALA\u2019s READ Poster Maker DVD<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 We\u2019ve come up with a fun way to use it!<\/p>\n

First, we designed READ posters featuring Children\u2019s Services staff, each with a favorite book (or books).<\/p>\n

Second, we came up with riddles that went along with each title.\u00a0 Can you guess the title of this book\u2026?<\/p>\n

All the wolf wanted was a cup of sugar<\/em>
\nTo bake his dear granny a cake,<\/em>
\nBut the story got twisted by those three sneaky pigs,<\/em>
\nAnd now the wolf\u2019s life is at stake.<\/em><\/p>\n

Next, we displayed the posters around the Children\u2019s Services department. (We chose to do this program during April, in honor of National Library Week).\u00a0 We printed up the riddle clues, allowing space for participants to write in the titles that matched the riddles, and asked them to fill out their names, ages and contact information to be entered in a drawing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finally, at the end of the program, we drew a name from each of the following four age groups from all the entries we received:<\/p>\n
