{"id":2472,"date":"2011-06-04T00:01:49","date_gmt":"2011-06-04T04:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=2472"},"modified":"2011-06-03T16:25:34","modified_gmt":"2011-06-03T20:25:34","slug":"engaging-programming-with-read-posters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2011\/06\/engaging-programming-with-read-posters\/","title":{"rendered":"Engaging Programming with READ Posters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Late last year, my library purchased <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alastore.ala.org\/readdesignstudioinfo\/default.aspx\">ALA\u2019s READ Poster Maker DVD<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 We\u2019ve come up with a fun way to use it!<\/p>\n<p>First, we designed READ posters featuring Children\u2019s Services staff, each with a favorite book (or books).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2476 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kris1-194x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kris1-194x300.jpg 194w, https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kris1.jpg 315w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2478 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/becky2-231x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/becky2-231x300.jpg 231w, https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/becky2.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Second, we came up with riddles that went along with each title.\u00a0 Can you guess the title of this book\u2026?<\/p>\n<p><em>All the wolf wanted was a cup of sugar<\/em><br \/>\n<em>To bake his dear granny a cake,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>But the story got twisted by those three sneaky pigs,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And now the wolf\u2019s life is at stake.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Next, we displayed the posters around the Children\u2019s Services department.
