The award committee for the 2021 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/awardsgrants\/bookmedia\/sibertmedal\">Sibert Medal<\/a> is seeking your suggestions! This honor is awarded annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished informational book published in the United States in English during the preceding year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are a few key items to bear in mind as you submit your suggestions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An informational book is defined as one written and illustrated to present, organize, and interpret documentable, factual material.<\/li><li>Distinguished is defined as noted for significant achievement; marked by quality, excellence, or eminence; distinctive.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Only books published in 2020 are eligible for this award.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To share your suggestions, simply email committee chair Brandy Sanchez at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:sibert2021@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\">sibert2021@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suggestions close on October 16, 2020!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This blog relates to ALSC Core Competency: Knowledge, Curation, and Management of Materials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Read any good children&#8217;s informational books lately?
