{"id":23774,"date":"2020-09-05T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-05T04:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=23774"},"modified":"2020-09-03T13:15:27","modified_gmt":"2020-09-03T17:15:27","slug":"lsuctc-toolkit-seeking-topic-suggestions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2020\/09\/lsuctc-toolkit-seeking-topic-suggestions\/","title":{"rendered":"LSUCTC Toolkit: seeking topic suggestions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July, the Library Service to Underserved Children and Their Caregivers committee announced our plan for the 2020-2021 calendar year:&nbsp; creating a vibrant, dynamic toolkit that provides ALSC members with up-to-date resources for working with marginalized populations.&nbsp; As a dynamic document, these pages will continue to grow and develop as we find new resources, share our experiences, and continue to learn from each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August, we released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=23608\">our first toolkit page with resources for autism<\/a> and other sensory processing disorders.\u00a0 In developing this resource, we realized that in order to provide relevant, meaningful content we need to also provide ourselves time and space to curate those resources.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As much as we would love to bring you a new toolkit page every month, we\u2019ve found it\u2019s much more realistic to plan for a new resource every <em>other <\/em>month.&nbsp; In the other months, we hope to highlight a program or \u201cunpack\u201d something from the previous month\u2019s toolkit. With that in mind, we urge you to send us recommendations or exemplary programs that you would like us to highlight. We\u2019d love to touch base with purveyors of programs for underserved children and learn more about the amazing work they\u2019re doing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though our timeline is changing, we\u2019re still committed to creating a vibrant, useful toolkit that will serve ALSC members for years to come.&nbsp; And we still need your help to do that.&nbsp; While we have brainstormed some populations to get started, we also know that each library is unique.&nbsp; <strong>Which underserved population would you most like to see featured? <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/F51e6xDLCYjNrPoW7\"><strong>Let us know!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please continue to <a href=\"mailto:lsuctc@gmail.com\">email us<\/a> with your recommendations, favorite resources, and inspiring community programming and outreach endeavors.
