And I am one of the fortunate ones whose train doesn\u2019t leave until tomorrow morning, so that\u2019s what I did today after the Youth Media Awards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-22610 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/F53033BD-E811-458E-B0B1-E8EAC7C5A27E-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"front of the library building\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>The main library is a big impressive building and very easy to get to from the conference. I really appreciate how user-friendly SEPTA \u2014\u00a0Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority \u2014 is. I grabbed the #32 bus on the curb by the Convention Center and took it eight stops down where it let me off right in front of the building. Though chartered in 1891 by Dr. William Pepper, the current building wasn\u2019t until 1927 (the original library was housed in the basement of City Hall!).<\/p>\n<p>I did a little wandering myself and then took a very informative tour with exclusive access (the tour was free of course!). I hope the following list inspires you or at least is nice eye candy for those who are both #alaleftbehind and just couldn\u2019t make it. These are only\u00a0<em>some\u00a0<\/em>of the cool things at the Parkway Library.
