I\u2019ve been here for five months and am enjoying learning the ins and outs of the role and being a part of this awesome team!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you prefer to read newspapers in paper or online?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Most of the time I read the news online. But there\u2019s something really nice about starting a weekend morning off with a newspaper and a cup of coffee in hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a book which you love to read over and over again? What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>A Christmas Carol<\/em> by Charles Dickens. One of my teachers had our class read it in 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade, and it has \u2018haunted my house pleasantly\u2019 every year since.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the best thing about working in the ALSC office?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The people! The ALSC team is small but mighty and very passionate about the work of the association. My coworkers are also incredibly kind, fun, and have been so welcoming to me from day one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What was your favorite book when you were a child?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Growing up I read and reread every Nancy Drew book there was. Need a mystery solved or a case cracked? I\u2019m ready.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s your favorite season? Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Fall is my absolute favorite season. Sweatshirts, crisp air, apple cider, tailgates, colorful leaves, bonfires, pumpkin carving, my birthday\u2026what\u2019s not to love??<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you advocate for children and libraries?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I think ALSC\u2019s book and media awards serve a crucial role in elevating the status of children\u2019s books and the importance of making these diverse and wonderful stories accessible to all children through libraries. As a kid, it was always so exciting to choose a book at the library with one of those shiny stickers on the cover, and now it\u2019s such an honor to help administer these awards as a member of the ALSC team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite term people use to describe you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Empathetic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is the last person you said &#8220;Thank You&#8221; to?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The kind stranger who warned me of the fresh gum on the sidewalk I was about to step in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your very earliest memory?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It\u2019s hard to pinpoint my first memory, but luckily for me my parents were big fans of those now old-school video cameras.
