ALA Annual Conference is right around the corner and if you\u2019re like me, you\u2019re starting to fill out your schedule. \u00a0There will be committee meetings, exhibit time, a publisher event or two, and one of my favorite meetings \u2013 Leadership and ALSC.<\/p>\n

Taking place on Saturday morning, the Leadership and ALSC program has become a staple in my conference routine.\u00a0 In my early conference days, I wasn\u2019t aware of the fact that this program was for all ALSC members, but it is!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, what exactly is Leadership and ALSC?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s the opportunity to hear updates related to ALSC interests.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a chance to meet tons of members during the introduction piece \u2013 be ready with your name and affiliation.<\/p>\n

It offers a terrific presentation on a timely topic.\u00a0For Annual, the topic is \u201cDrag Queen Story Hour\u201d and will feature Librarians and Drag Queens sharing their successful programs.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To get an idea of how great these presentations are check out:\u00a0Toxic Stress in the Library: The Upstream Impact of Life Adversity on Children<\/a>\u00a0from Midwinter 2018.\u00a0 Many of us were inspired by the talk Dr. Janina Fari\u00f1as and Johanna Ulloa Gir\u00f3n<\/a>\u00a0gave.<\/p>\n
