My 2 year term is up at the conclusion of this conference.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t filled out a volunteer form ever&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/groups\/committees\/volunteer\/frm_vol\">Committee Volunteer Form<\/a> , I highly suggest it as a way to get involved with ALA and not feel #alaleftbehind . At my meeting this am- we had a committee member on speaker phone who couldn&#8217;t make it! The committees are just looking for people who want to participate and are willing to put in some amount of effort.<\/p>\n<p>I loved serving on the Public Awareness Committee&#8211; they launched the Libraries Transform movement, a major initiative to enable and empower communities to rethink their library spaces. If you are not aware you can sign up here <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/transforminglibraries\/libraries-transform-campaign\">Libraries Transform <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The PAC also secures the Potential Chairs for National Library Week, and all of the National Library Week festivities.
