W. Hootie Johnson Performance Hall, in the Darla Moore School of Business, at the University of South Carolina. Required tickets are free for the lecture and must be obtained through the South Carolina State Library\u2019s website. To learn more about acquiring tickets and event details, please visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.statelibrary.sc.gov\/arbuthnot\">2017 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p>Jacqueline Woodson is the 2014 National Book Award Winner for her New York Times bestselling memoir, <strong>Brown Girl Dreaming.<\/strong> The author of more than two dozen books for young readers, she is a four-time Newbery Honor winner, a recipient of the NAACP Image Award, the 2014 National Book Award winner for young people&#8217;s literature, a two-time Coretta Scott King Award winner and was recently named the Young People&#8217;s Poet Laureate by the Poetry Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/arbuthnot\">May Hill Arbuthnot Lecture <\/a>is sponsored by ALSC. The lecture title honors May Hill Arbuthnot, distinguished writer, editor and children\u2019s literature scholar.
