{"id":14485,"date":"2016-11-27T00:01:50","date_gmt":"2016-11-27T05:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=14485"},"modified":"2016-11-28T10:12:06","modified_gmt":"2016-11-28T15:12:06","slug":"save-date-alsc-community-forum-125","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2016\/11\/save-date-alsc-community-forum-125\/","title":{"rendered":"Save the Date: ALSC Community Forum on 12\/5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ALSC Board of Directors and ALSC President Vice President\/President-Elect Nina Lindsay will be hosting an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/community-forums\">ALSC Community Forum<\/a> live chat on the topic of <strong>diversity, inclusion, and support for youth.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This forum will be held on <strong>Monday, December 5, 2016<\/strong> at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 pm Eastern<\/li>\n<li>11 am Central<\/li>\n<li>10 am Mountain<\/li>\n<li>9 am Pacific<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This forum will also include a <strong>live text discussion<\/strong> with the Diversity within ALSC Task Force, and an opportunity to share new thoughts for the finalizing of ALSC&#8217;s new Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Members are invited to read recent ALSC Blog posts by <strong>Nina Lindsay<\/strong> and the <strong>Diversity within ALSC Task Force co-chairs<\/strong> in preparation for this discussion:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2016\/11\/library-providing-safe-space-children-caregivers\/\">How is your library providing a safe space for children and their caregivers?<\/a> by Zareen Jaffery and Kendra Jones, 11\/21\/2016<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2016\/11\/open-forum-diversity-inclusion-work-post-election\/\">Open Forum on Diversity, Inclusion and Our Work, Post-Election<\/a> by Nina Lindsay, 11\/16\/2016<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ALSC members will receive an email about the forum a few days before.
