I hosted my second ever roadshow at the annual California Library Association conference #CLASwingIntoAction. \u00a0This is a great way to fund conference attendance, support ALSC and meet other librarians. You too can host a roadshow!<\/span><\/p>\n

WHO:<\/b> ALSC members who are passionate about supporting the organization<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"ALSC<\/p>\n

WHAT:<\/b> staff a booth, give a presentation or host a social event<\/span><\/p>\n

WHERE:<\/b> at a state or local conferences related to library service, children\u2019s publishing, or have some connection to library services<\/span><\/p>\n

\"An<\/p>\n

WHEN<\/b>: \u00a0you decide when and what you can host<\/span><\/p>\n

HOW:<\/b> I opted for a social event. I consulted with my co-host, identified a non-conflict time and location then created a Facebook event. The meetup was promoted in conference related Facebook groups, on Twitter and relevant listservs. \u00a0Dan at the ALSC office sent me a box of promotional material and SWAG to hand out at the conference. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

WHY:<\/b> \u00a0My place of work did not fund my state conference attendance. It was suggested I apply for roadshow funding.<\/span> NOTE:<\/b> ALSC will pay only the cost of registration for individuals<\/span><\/i>. <\/span>\u00a0I was pleased to meet librarians from throughout California and promote ALSC to kidbrarians in my state. <\/span><\/p>\n
