{"id":14282,"date":"2016-10-27T12:01:50","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T16:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/?p=14282"},"modified":"2016-10-22T15:42:30","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T19:42:30","slug":"program-in-a-post-passive-pumpkins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alsc.ala.org\/blog\/2016\/10\/program-in-a-post-passive-pumpkins\/","title":{"rendered":"Program in a Post: Passive Pumpkins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With this blog post, paint, pumpkins and creative souls, you can have a festive display, early literacy tool, and community outreach all in one!<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Supplies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pumpkins (for examples)<\/li>\n<li>Paints<\/li>\n<li>Simple cardstock awards<\/li>\n<li>Tissue Paper, Feathers, Sequins, etc. (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Advertisement- poster, social media, word of mouth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n<p>We advertised this as a pumpkin decorating display and encouraged families to create a pumpkin at home and then turn it in to the library where it would be on display for a week.<\/p>\n<p>Our staff made book character pumpkins in advance.
