I was able to sit in on their meetings today and it was so interesting to see how they run their discussion. As they went through each book on the list, they started by sharing positives and then everyone was given a chance to address any concerns they had about the title. Committee members keep an open mind about the books they&#8217;re discussing, allowing their opinions to be changed as people make points and bring up concerns. The discussions have to be very brief; they went through 32 books in the space of about 2.5 hours. And they do all that with an audience! Since these are open meetings, sitting in is a great experience for anyone interested in book evaluation or book discussion.
