The goal: engage the audience in as many ways as possible. For youth services librarians in attendance, the event would spark ideas and conversation. For all other librarians in the space, the storytime would demonstrate that storytime programs are complex, living organisms&#8211;you can plan all you want, but you&#8217;ve got to be ready for anything. A number of fantastic topics came up during the event, from shaker songs to tips for adding play and singing in the library. I for one got a whole page&#8217;s worth of ideas for new storytime elements and strategies. Many of the attendees and participants are youth services bloggers, and we&#8217;ll be sharing our take-aways on our own blogs in the coming days.
