Think of all the people you know who choose to make a positive impact on kids. Teachers, bus drivers, nurses, cafeteria workers, tutors, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, doctors, crossing guards, social workers, foster parents, and yes, children’s librarians, are some of the people who impact our kids and communities on an ongoing and daily basis. Next Thursday, November 3rd, is Thank a Youth Worker Day. This international day of celebrating and honoring youth workers is a great day to recognize all those unsung heroes and heroines who work with or on behalf of children and youth to facilitate their personal, social, and educational development.
