Many of us have heard about outcomes based evaluation but have not learned all of the ins and outs of actually applying the techniques to a real program or project. The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), in partnership with Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI) is offering a low-cost online course on outcomes-based planning and evaluation (OBPE). The normal cost for the self-paced course is $150 per individual or working group. However, IMLS is offering a number of scholarships for museum and library professionals serving economically challenged populations. Assistance is based characteristics of the parent institution and the individual’s commitment as reflected in a project proposal.
