The ALA Youth Media Awards were announced this morning. Minus the intense excitement – and enthusiastic applause – of an in-person announcement, the virtual announcements were still thrilling to participate in. Here is the press release announcing all the winners:

Have YOU submitted your Mock YMA Election Results?
In just over two weeks, on Monday morning, January 28th, the Youth Media Awards will be announced at #alamw19. Excitedly, we will all hear what wins some of the most prestigious book awards in the world, including the Newbery Award, the Caldecott Award, the Printz Award, the Batchelder Award, and more. As excitement builds, librarians in schools and libraries around the country offer Mock YMA elections to help stimulate and share the reading enthusiasm and excitement. The ALSC Blog collects results from these mock elections and compiles the results on its Mock Elections page.
Are YOU offering a Mock YMA Election This Year?
Get ready to submit your Mock YMA results! Is your library offering a Mock Newbery or Mock Sibert discussion and election this year? Maybe your classroom or school is offering a Mock Caldecott or Coretta Scott King? Or perhaps your book discussion group is offering a Mock Printz or a Mock Pura Belpré election? We all want to see what your group thinks will be selected as the “best of the best” in young people’s literature!
