Attending the 2017 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago? Plan to arrive early and attend the ALSC PREconference, “Perceive. Rise. Engage: Celebrate the 2017 ALSC Honor Books,” scheduled for Friday, June 23, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us in conversation with authors, illustrators, and publishers as we celebrate and explore the 2017 Batchelder, Caldecott, Geisel, Newbery, Pura Belpré, and Sibert Honor Books. The event will feature three separate panel discussions with honorees, and lunch is included. Panel Discussions Panel 1: Perceive 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Our life’s experiences color the way we perceive the world around us. Panelists will offer their insights into the different ways that we observe our environments.
