It was one of those interview-style opening sessions that left me laughing, a little teary-eyed here and there, and furiously typing notes into a blank email in my phone. Meg Medina with her humor and passion was a wonderful person for the conference task force to invite to open this year’s conference. I am looking forward to sharing her words with many of my colleagues in my workplace because so many of the things she said echo discussions we too have been having lately.

“At the beginning of everything…” (#ALSC2024)
I arrived late to #ALSC2024. I had a few mishaps along the way. My phone had no reception to call an Uber at Denver International Airport, and then the hotel room they gave me already had people in it. So by the time I got changed from plane clothes into conference dinner clothes, they were closing up shop at registration and dinner was already underway.
