While Summer Reading is certainly on the forefront of every children’s librarian’s mind right now, Fall is also just around the corner and we should start to think about how to make Fall just as special as Summer. One idea that I am working on is a Dinovember Fest! Throughout the month of November, I will put on dinosaur programs for children of all ages. Here are some programs I will be hosting this Fall!

Fall Themed Storytimes
It is officially fall and that means fall themed storytimes! Whether you do an autumn theme, apples, pumpkins, or anything else fall, there are so many ideas to build a storytime from. This week is my first week back from maternity leave and I chose something that would be simple and also a fan favorite – fall. I am going to share some of my favorite places I found my ideas!
Exploring Autumn with Apps and Websites
Autumn has arrived here in Northeastern Ohio, bringing with it crisp weather, all things pumpkin, and beautiful fall foliage. The trees are only starting to reveal their brilliant hues of orange, yellow, gold and red here, but soon I’ll awaken to a glowing landscape that seemingly exploded overnight. As this season traditionally brings many requests for fall themed library materials, as well as special fall programming, I was inspired to think of ways that technology may add further enjoyment and educational opportunities to this time. The best way to experience the beauty of fall is to strap on your hiking shoes and venture to the nearest wooded park (or your backyard!). Bringing along your smartphone or tablet, loaded with fall foliage apps, can enhance your exploration of autumn’s beauty.
