There’s no doubt that the amazing lineup of speakers covering the latest hot topics in children’s librarianship is sure to be a huge draw for attending the ALSC National Institute this September, but so is “The Queen City” itself. Cincinnati is your destination for a fun fall getaway! Foodies will want to start their Cincinnati foods tour by sampling Cincinnati-style chili; tastes are divided between Skyline Chili and Gold Star Chili, though many neighborhoods also feature chili parlors, so try one or try them all and see which recipe reigns supreme. Don’t miss Graeter’s Ice Cream for a sweet treat; we’re especially digging the Chunky Chunky Hippo flavor inspired by our favorite resident of the Cincinnati Zoo, Fiona the hippopotamus.
