Our Membership Committee does a really wonderful job of using the ALSC Blog as a channel to inform ALSC members on ways to engage and maximize their membership. They approach their committee work with experience and intention, and as a staff member, I rely heavily on their perspectives as members of ALSC. They help me figure out what the questions and concerns are and how we can address these questions and concerns in new and innovative ways!
To further support this journey in getting to know our members and to learn what their questions are, we’re introducing ALSC Member Office Hours! These office hours are very informal one-hour Zoom sessions for members to literally drop-in for a minute (or for the whole hour!) to ask any questions you have related to ALSC and your membership. I will be present during all of these office hours (sometimes also joined by colleagues or ALSC member leaders) to chat and answer questions. I won’t promise I’ll have all the answers right away, but I can promise that, if I don’t have the answer, I’ll figure it out with you!
Questions or curiosities can include:
- When is a good time to submit a volunteer form?
- How can I stay updated on ALSC news?
- Who can I contact for Institute registration?
- How can I submit a guest post for the Blog?
- How can I learn more about upcoming ALSC board meetings?
- I’m a new member, where can I begin getting involved?
As an organization, we have a lot more to share and collaborate on in the next year and we REALLY cannot do this important work without an actively engaged membership. To support engagement, I want our members to stay informed and I know providing as many touch points as possible is important. So, if you have any questions about your membership and engagement within ALSC, please drop-in! Registration for ALSC drop-in sessions can be found at the bottom of our Member Engagement page moving forward.
