The Membership Committee has been working hard to create an exciting virtual event for new, experienced, or prospective ALSC members. We are highlighting this new member engagement opportunity today!
Drumroll please…
The first virtual ALSC Open House will be held Monday, June 21 at 3 CT! Read on for more details…
This event will have it all – there will be an introduction to ALSC as an organization by ALSC staff members and leadership; there will be an introduction to process committees representing 5 of the 6 ALSC Priority Groups as well as standalone involvement opportunities; there will be networking; there will be Q&A time.
After an all-group introduction to ALSC, we will divide up into breakout rooms. Each breakout will be hosted by at least two current committee chairs and monitored by a Membership Committee member. This will give attendees an opportunity to learn more about each of these committees and ask questions of the folks who are doing the work. Participants will be encouraged to move through the breakout rooms on a schedule, but which breakout rooms are selected are up to the participant.
It is our hope that attendees will leave informed about our organization, inspired to get involved, and invigorated just before #alaac21 (don’t forget – process committee meetings are open to the public!).
Please register for this FREE event here: https://ala-events.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0kcOqrrj0uEt2uWlEQkJQcXTlDRTtKCF-d
Live captioning will be available in the main room throughout the hour. Please note: there will be breakout rooms hosted by various ALSC committees, which, unfortunately, do not allow for captioning services. If you require captioning, the main room is available to you where you will still be able to learn all about ALSC and the many ways to get involved! If you require another access service to fully participate or have any questions about accessibility, please contact Elly Serrano at eserrano@ala.org by June 11, 2021.
