While we miss celebrating our awards in person, staff, members, award recipients, publishers, and many others have worked incredibly hard to bring life and joy to our virtual ceremonies happening this week! Odyssey Awards
When: Thursday, June 24, 6-7:00pm CST
The Odyssey Award is jointly given and administered by ALSC and the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), divisions of ALA, and is sponsored by Booklist magazine.
Hear from the producers, authors, and narrators behind the 2021 Odyssey Honoree and Award recipients! These recorded Zoom calls offer insight into the production process, and even feature some exclusive readings.
Register in advance to attend this virtual ceremony. After the live session, it will be available on the ALA Annual Conference Scheduler as an on-demand session.
Pura Belpré Celebración
When: Sunday, June 27, 1-2:30pm CST
Hear from recipients of the 2021 Pura Belpré Award, past recipients, and the award’s founders at this ceremony. Rafael López will deliver special remarks, and a commemorative video from TeachingBooks.net will celebrate 25 years of this award! The Pura Belpré Award is co-sponsored by REFORMA, ALSC, and YALSA.

Newbery-Caldecott-Legacy Virtual Banquet
When: Sunday, June 27, 7-8:15pm CST
Hear from the recipients of the 2021 Newbery, Caldecott, and Children’s Literature Legacy Award Medals! Tae Keller, Michaela Goade, and Mildred D. Taylor will deliver acceptance remarks, and the Newbery and Caldecott Honorees will deliver brief messages. We also have a special #Newbery100 surprise! You won’t want to miss it.

Monday Morning Awards
When: Monday, June 28, 10-11:00am CST
Hear from the recipients of the 2021 Batchelder, Excellence in Early Learning Digital Media, Geisel, and Sibert Awards! Representatives from Enchanted Lion Books and Committee for Children, David LaRochelle, Mike Wohnoutka, Candace Fleming, and Eric Rohmann will deliver acceptance remarks, and all Honorees will deliver brief messages.
