What is taking the top honors in YOUR Mock YMA elections? Submit your results now on this form.
Do you have Monday, January 25 marked on your calendar as a red-letter day? If you do, you might be as much as a children’s lit geek as I am! It is, of course, the day the ALA Youth Media Awards will be announced from the ALA Midwinter Virtual meetings.
I love to hear which titles are selected as the official winners. And I love, love, love to track what librarians, students, and other children’s book lovers have selected in their mock elections prior to the announcements of the YMAs.
Again this year, the ALSC Blog is compiling winners of Mock YMA Elections from around the country. Check it out here. We know the global pandemic has impacted the number of Mock Election programs taking place, but we hope to see these lists grow extensively in the next few weeks. You can also find this tab at the top of the page of the ALSC Blog.
If your school or library is offering a Mock Election program for students, staff, or patrons, we’d love to add the results to the list! We will be compiling results from this year’s
- Mock Caldecott
- Mock Newbery
- Mock Coretta Scott King
- Mock Geisel
- Mock Printz
- Mock Sibert
- Mock Pura Belpre
- Mock (Mildred L.) Batchelder
Host your program and submit your results. All of us are waiting to see what won at your Mock Election discussions! To add your mock election results to this page, please use this form. Submissions will be accepted until Sunday, January 24, 2021.
