Virtual ALSC 101

Are you thinking about joining ALSC? Are you a new member of ALSC? Are you a current member of ALSC and looking for ways to be more involved or network? If you can say yes to any of these questions, ALSC 101 is for you!

The ALSC Membership Committee is hosting a virtual “ALSC 101” session on August 1st from 4:00pm-5:00pm Pacific Time via Zoom Webinar. This event is normally conducted at ALA Annual and the purpose is to introduce new members to the organization and conferences, as well as a chance for all members to network and learn about ways to get involved.

The virtual ALSC 101 session will include breakout rooms with icebreakers and then a few rounds of trivia. Next, we will moderate a panel session including 5 ALSC Members with varying experiences – Tasha Nins, Sierra McKenzie, Anna Taylor, Katie Salo, and Mary Fellows. The session will conclude with information from Sharon Korbeck Verbeten regarding writing for Children and Libraries and Mary Voors regarding posting to the ALSC blog. 4 lucky attendees will be randomly selected by ALSC staff to receive an ALSC swag bag once the session has concluded!

You can register for Virtual ALSC 101 here. This event is free and you do not have to be an ALSC member to attend. If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to email Tanya Prax at tprax@ald.lib.co.us or Elizabeth Serrano at eserrano@ala.org.
