Help! We Are Looking for Live Bloggers to Report on the 2018 ALSC National Institute

ALSC National Institute 2018 logoIn just over one month, the 2018 ALSC National Institute will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio. This year’s theme is All Aboard! Embracing Advocacy & Inclusion. Are you one of the lucky people who managed to get registered for this two and a half day National Institute before it was sold out? The ALSC Blog would love your help! We are looking for live bloggers to write about what they are learning and experiencing so those who are #leftbehind can share your excitement and enthusiasm.

We’d love to hear your first-hand thoughts about:

  • The opening keynote address with Grace Lin; the award-winning and bestselling author and illustrator of When the Sea Turned to Silver, Starry River of the Sky, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, The Year of the Dog, The Year of the Rat, Dumpling Days, and Ling & Ting, as well as picture books such as The Ugly Vegetables and Dim Sum for Everyone!
  • The closing general session with Brian Selznick; the creator of the New York Times bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which received the Caldecott medal, and David Serlin, a writer, editor, and and the author of Baby Monkey, Private Eye.

Or maybe you’d be able to share your thoughts about some of the many information-packed programs including:

  • Every Child Ready to Read and Supercharged Storytimes: How these two research-based projects connect and add value to early learning
  • Identity in Children’s Literature: Representing all kids through library programming
  • Demystifying Advocacy: Building support for your library
  • Grown-ups Are People Too: Promoting caregiver bonding with awesome early literacy programming
  • Feed the Whole Child: Un-limiting approaches to filling children’s heads, bellies, and hearts
  • Afterschool at the Library: Mistakes may have been made
  • When Leveling Helps, When it Doesn’t, and How Libraries Can Make the Best of It
  • Identity in Children’s Literature: Representing all kids through library programming

Are you attending the Institute? Are you interested in being a live blogger for the ALSC Blog?  We’d love to have your contributions!
