ALA Annual 2014

Banned Books at #alaac14

Lauren Correia, a library volunteer at John S. Park Elementary Elementary in Las Vegas, reads from a Shel Silverstein book.

Sage Videos and ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom sponsored a reading of banned books on Saturday and Sunday during the ALA Conference. Attendees were invited to read a short passage from their favorite banned book and then make a brief statement about why the book was important to them.

The readings were videotaped and will be featured on the Banned Books Week YouTube Channel during Banned Books Week, September 21-27.
