Has your library signed up for Hoopla?
Hoopla is a digital media service available through your library. Library customers may choose from a selection of movies, televisions shows, or educational/instructional videos. “The hoopla app can be found in the App Store on your iOS device and in the Google Play store on your Android device. Search for “hoopla digital” to find and download the app”
I’m excited about Hoopla at our library. There is a wonderful selection of children’s picture books turned into movies created by Scholastic/Weston Woods and Dreamscape Media. A few examples of well known classics are Where the Wild Things Are, The Mouse and the Motorcycle and The Ugly Duckling.
One of my favorite children’s picture books this year is Mr. Wuffles by David Wiesner. A 2014 Caldecott Honor, this book is now a seven minute movie available on Hoopla.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy Hoopla is to understand and use for library customers. Once you have downloaded the app. added your library, library card number and pin you are ready to select a movie. Then hit “borrow” and the play button! Your movie adventure begins…
A few other popular children’s movies available are Curious George, The Tale of Despereaux and Lego Adventures.
Hoopla went live January 2013 and they continue to add new movies each week. How amazing it is to have a selection of movies available without the hassle of DVD’ scratches, empty DVD cases and long waits for the latest children’s movies.
Do you have your library card and pin ready to go?
