Monday at ALA Annual ’09

I will admit that when I heard my alarm at 6:30 a.m. I was a tad weary. After all, the excitement of last night’s Newbery Caldecott Wilder Banquet leads one to stay up and easily lose track of the time. However, I am up and at the convention center, sitting at an terminal at the ALA Internet Cafe. The line for the Internet stations was relatively speedy. In fifteen minutes, I will be listening to Melba Pattillo Beals, featured speaker of the ALSC Charlemae Rollins President’s Program. Before that I would like a bit of breakfast. It’s a jam-packed day today, so off I go. I promise to recap when I return home Wednesday.

I am home. I didn’t want anyone to worry, but I also didn’t want to make a post about that. 🙂 It was wonderful to see and meet so many wonderful colleagues. I wish I could have caught up with even more of you. Maybe in DC?

Maybe for DC we could have a time to meet for coffee.

Great suggestion. Jeanette! Sunday and Monday of conference tend to be the days with the most ALSC activities. I’ll take a closer look to see if there are any breaks where we might fit in a get-together in the schedule those two days .
