New Ideas in Winter 2014 ALSC Online Courses

ALSC Online EducationA new year means new beginning and what better way to start off 2014 than by bringing home new ideas to your library?

ALSC has five ways for you to bring home those ideas…five online courses that will challenge and inspire you. Each course addresses a difference topic related to children’s librarianship. Three of these courses are certified to provide CEUs by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

ALSC online courses are designed to fit the needs of working professionals. Courses are taught by experienced librarians and academics. As participants frequently noted in post-course surveys, ALSC stresses quality and caring in its online education options.

Information Literacy – From Preschool to High School
6 weeks, January 6 – February 17, 2013; CEU Certified Course, 3 CEUs

Integrating New Technologies into your Collection
4 weeks, January 6 – February 3, 2014
Instructor: Bonnie Roalsen, Head of Children’s Services, Dover Town (Mass.) Public Library.

Reading Instruction and Children’s Books
6 weeks, January 6 – February 17, 2014; CEU Certified Course, 2 CEUs
Instructor: Katherine (Kate) Todd, Adjunct Instructor, Manhattanville College.

Children with Disabilities in the Library
6 weeks, January 6 – February 17, 2014; CEU Certified Course, 3 CEUs
